I'm thinking about purchasing one of the Sims base games and a few expansions for Christmas. But, we do not have a PC or gaming laptop. Will Sims work on a MacBook Air 2017 and if yes, will it slow down the laptop?
Also, is Sims 2, 3, or 4 more fun and why?

I got a Macbook Air (2017) a few months ago and i've been thinking about playing The Sims 4 on it. Will i be able to play it without my Mac overheating (too much) or the game crashing/lagging? I am able to smoothly run other 'heavy' software on it (like after effects, which i was told wouldn't work well). So she had her install the things she uses (Sims 4, Minecraft, roblox.she's 11) and she loves it over the Air. The 2017 should arrive today and I'll run a side, by side, by side benchmark of my 2017 MPB and the two Macbooks. I had planned on selling the 2016 model and maybe recouping some of the cost of the 2017 but. I have a regular 2017 12-inch MacBook (not pro or air), and it meets the recommended requirements but I'm still worried it won't run TS4 very well. I played 2 when I was younger all the time and I'd love to get back into the sims world but I don't want to spend so much on something if it won't work well (like many people who have come.
